Over the course of a lifetime we all face losses. Sometimes these losses are so significant or frequent that they change the very way we view  ourselves, our life or the world around us.  The fatigue factors related to grief make us vulnerable to increased use of substances and depression/anxiety.  We are typically unable to problem solve as effectively and find it hard to access our support system. In fact we grieve, in part, because our support system has been altered significantly.

Grief counselling helps normalize symptoms of loss and supports the pacing of grief symptoms including tips on getting to sleep or staying asleep.  You can begin to explore the meaning behind the loss and begin some reconstruction of who you are becoming and next steps to returning to a new life.  Support helps limit the potential for elongated or complicated grief.
